I'm impressed that you read it closely enough to determine that the quote was NOT in his writings. That's a very close reading... In every endeavor, there simply cannot be allowed
any lessening in this search.

In every challenge we face, the very best that we can
do is the only thing we must do. For these problems,
these challenges, will not go away untended by superior
effort.

In the pursuit of peace— in tne unknown environment
of space— in the strengthening of our economy— in the ac-
ceptance of decency as standard of treatment for every-
one—in a resolve to drive out of our lives our ancient
enemies of ignorance and disease, of poverty and intoler-
ance—in all of these challenges our efforts will be fruitful
to the degree to which we refuse to accept anything less
than excellence.

Twenty-four hundred years ago Pericles set forth in
his time the high resolves of our time. When I was writing our book, I...Good article, Dan.

When I was writing our book, I uncovered a few well-worn statements that turned out to be faulty attributions. As I recall, one was to Tom Peters, another to Edwards Deming, and a third to the Roman, Gaius Petronius. Few people will challenge anything attributed to the Romans, and it's rather difficult to refute it. In my case, I had access to the English translation of his complete works; so it was simply a case of reading through them.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16587099856854029252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4953008377950396317.post-26631498746470251872017-03-14T04:28:46.731-07:002017-03-14T04:28:46.731-07:00Good article, Dan.
