I cannot help but wonder- what is the point of the "model number" at the bottom of the map key, if it cannot provide us with at least some idea of the year it was made? Mine is a little different, so my search continues... Lol. <br />A-1000-751 -2-2-2-6-5 (I also wonder what the significance of the colors on the last numbers would be). The twos are (in order ) pink, blue ,black, the six is black and the 5 is red . It's stamped by hand because the blue 2 is slightly overlapping the black one and they are not "uniform' at all . Your numbers are slightly different, correct? I fixed up that text to make sense. <br /><br />I agree about the stand being a bit different. I suspect the code variation is something like a serial number. Since I wasn't able to find the secret code ring decoder for RM globe codes, I don't know if that's significant or not. <br /><br />I see what you mean about the French Somaliland.
