I wish I have seen this post much earlier..Speaking of the conferences and Persian Speedwell, I am an Iranian American who was born and raised in Iran. We used to have a yard in my childhood house with different patches of flowers. My most favorite flower was these Persian Speedwell. Every year I would literally check the garden every hour as we were getting close to Nowruz to see if they sprung yet! Then on the day of Nowruz, I would pick a few of them and made sure that my mom put it on our Haft-sin table (its a traditional thing we have at the moment of spring equinox). So the reason I said I wish I saw this post earlier is because I literally missed my chance to see Speedup one more time after almost 15 years. While at CHIIR (where I met you), I was so thinking about Nowruz because it was going to be my very first time that I would be alone on Nowruz day as I was heading to the iConference right after CHIIR. I just wish I saw this beautiful flower, I am sure it would have brighten up my whole year. But seeing a picture of it now still gives me lots of butterflies and joys. I know this is one of best years to come, because exactly on Monday March 21st, I heard the news that my interviews with Google has gone through and that I will be joining the team in just a few days! :) Although CHIIR is one of the smallest conferences (for now), but it was the first time that I met so many smart, fun and nice persons getting together in one place, including you. Looking forward to the coming years.Sarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00476933518911329659noreply@blogger.com
